Our laboratory facilities host precise diagnostic equipment used in preventative care and early detection.
Radiographs, or x-rays, direct electromagnetic rays through the tissues of the body to image both the tissues and objects or materials within the body.
Radiographs can detect a number of abnormalities including bone fractures, tumors, changes within the lungs such as infection, an enlarged heart, foreign objects within the stomach or intestines, and soft tissue damage. Radiography is an extremely useful diagnostic tool, both because of its ability to detect a large variety of abnormalities and because it is non-invasive.
Other imaging modalities such as ultrasound, MRI (magnetic resonance imaging), and CT (computed tomography) can also be used alone or in conjunction with radiographs to reach an accurate diagnosis of certain medical conditions.
Timpanogos Animal Hospital is pleased to offer these imaging services:
- Computed Tomography (CT)*
- Magnetic Resonance Images (MRI)*
