Laser_SurgeryAt Timpanogos Animal Hospital we offer routine surgeries such as spays and neuters. We perform these surgeries in a designated surgical suite, and we employ strict sterile technique. We run pre-anesthetic blood work to help assess the risks associated with placing your pet under anesthesia. We place your pet on IV fluids, which help keep your pet hydrated, maintain blood pressure, and allow us to deliver medications. To ensure your pet is as comfortable as possible, we employ superior pain management protocols. Your pet will be closely monitored while under anesthesia and during recovery using specialized equipment as well as a trained technician. Before, during, and after surgery, pets are kept warm and comfortable.

Neuter: Neutering is the removal of both testicles. Neutering is generally performed to prevent breeding as well as testicular diseases. Ideally a dog or cat is neutered between 4-6 months of age, but even mature pets can be safely neutered, and can benefit from this procedure. It is never too late to neuter your pet!

Spay: A spay involves the removal of both the uterus and the ovaries. Like a neuter, this is ideally done between 4-6 months, but adult pets can also be safely spayed. Spaying prevents unwanted pregnancies and eliminates or drastically reduces the risks of many diseases of the reproductive system, including life-threatening cancers and infections.
